Anna Ehrenstein works in transdisciplinary artistic practice
with an emphasize on research and collaboration. She uses
lens based media, print, video, installation, social moments or
sculpture. She was born in Germany to Albanian parents.
While her mother could access a work visa, her father left
Germany after denied asylum and the family started anew in Tirana,
which resulted in Ehrenstein growing up between Albania and Germany.
This biographical peculiarity aroused her interest in the
necropolitics of migration and the construction of the Eurasian continent.
Her works circulate around the material culture of the periphery, networked images and ecologies. The materialization of intangible data and consciousness is as much part of her installation process as collaboration and
collectivity, texts and written word.
She works with a large number of groups on joint artistic projects
and believes in the radical possibilities of spiritual coalition, ritual and collective unlearning.
